Diets That Work

Fat Burning Diets That Work

Stored human fat is an energy source for our bodies that can produce incredible stamina and vitality once the body has crossed the line between using short term carbs, and burning actual fat.  Let me explain. The body is just like human nature. We tend to take the path of least resistance. If it is easier to accomplish the same thing one way as opposed to another, we will usually go with the easier method.  Its basically the same with our bodies. If we are consuming enough sugars each day to handle our activity rate, then we will use that energy rather than tap into the stored reserves of fat. What’s worse is that our bodies will even store the extra unused energy each day even though we have plenty of reserves already. There is hope however. There are fat burning diets that work. I’m reluctant to even call them diets, because when choosing a healthy diet plan it is more of a change of habits than anything else. A change in our thinking can produce far reaching weight loss goals because we actually have altered our opinion about consuming certain foods, etc. A quick weight loss diet is usually followed by a quick weight gain in the near future.

When looking at these fat burning diets, keep in mind that the way to “trick” your body into consuming less fat is to always feel full. The way to accomplish this is by consuming whole foods (generally fruits and vegetables.) The stomach will tell the brain that no more food is needed, long before you have consumed more calories than you need for the given activity. The brain (convinced that the appetite has been satisfied) will then look to stored fat as an energy source to accomplish whatever the body is doing. At that point you have made the “switch” toward burning stored fat.

It is very important to do two things when looking at fat burning diets and establishing a healthy diet plan. First, do not consume more than 10% of your calories as fat. It actually pretty easy to monitor this, as nearly every food has a label showing the fat content. A pretty good rule of thumb is to think of a standard male diet as being 2000 calories a day and a female diet slightly less at 1750 calories a day. Therefore, since each gram of fat is equal to 9 calories, a male should not consume more than 22.2 grams, and a female should not eat more than 19.4 grams of fat each day. Secondly, it is very important to never get too hungry. You want to keep the “switch” on that tells the body to burn the stored fat. Simply consuming whole foods throughout the day will easily accomplish this. Once again, by eating an apple as opposed to drinking apple juice, will keep the stomach “full.” Your brain will see that the appetite is still satisfied, and will continue to burn stored fat instead.

A fat burning diet is not a quick weight loss diet, it is a healthy diet plan which works well if you stay full. What easier way to lose weight?
